In an effort to elevate athletic and academic experiences for its student-athletes, Iowa State University expanded its Jack Trice Stadium complex with a state-of-the-art Sports Performance Center. Spanning 110,000 square feet, this four-story addition is seamlessly connected to the existing Bergstrom Football Complex and was completed with an estimated construction cost of $90 million.
The facility reflects Iowa State University's commitment to providing a holistic environment that balances athletic excellence with academic success. The Sports Performance Center includes a 20,000-square-foot academic student services center, featuring 24 tutor rooms, classrooms, office spaces, a computer lab, and conference rooms. This dedicated academic space ensures student-athletes receive the resources and support needed to excel both on and off the field.
The facility also boasts advanced athletic amenities, including batting cages, hydrotherapy pools, a sports nutrition center, and a cutting-edge strength and conditioning space. Additional highlights include a dining facility with a fully equipped kitchen, a state-of-the-art locker room, and expanded spaces for team lounges and offices.
Levels three and four offer scenic views of Jack Trice Stadium, the new North Entry Plaza, and the Iowa State Center, making the facility a visually striking and functional addition to the campus. By blending world-class athletic facilities with academic support spaces, the Sports Performance Center enhances Iowa State University's ability to recruit, train, and develop top-tier athletes while fostering their academic and personal growth.
