Project narrative
North Iowa Area Community College's new 13,336 sf addition and 15,578 sf one-story remodel of their Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Center consists of seven science classrooms, five prep areas and a technology collaboration classroom. Natural light floods the high ceiling spaces of the addition creating an inviting learning environment with perimeter baseboard heater providing additional thermal comfort.
The STEM Center utilizes new technology and state-of-the-art equipment including cameras displaying table-top experiments to large classes, laboratory safety fume hoods, table-top fume exhaust snorkels, central deionized water system, daylighting LED light fixtures, high-efficiency condensing boilers and a web-based Direct Digital Control system.
